Re: Question On Mods For PC

If I already have the XBOX version, are the changes to the PC version such that it warrants a purchase for the PC? Please take into account the smaller screen size of the PC and the need to program a gamepad when answering. If the PC version is noticeably better, I don't mind getting it. Still not sure about the impact "Mods" have on the game, though. I'm still hearing the PC version doesn't run as smoothly as the XBOX.

IN MY OPINION, ONLY IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE ALL THE FANTASTIC MOD UPDATES. IF NOT, NO.

Please take into account the smaller screen size of the PC

WELL, IF THAT'S ONE OF YOUR QUALIFIERS, THEN NO.

and the need to program a gamepad when answering.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO NECESSARILY PROGRAM A GAMEPAD. USUALLY YOU CAN PLUG IT INTO THE PORT AND THE COMPUTER WILL RECOGNIZE IT. ALL YOU THEN HAVE TO DO IS PLAY.

If the PC version is noticeably better,

JUST ME, BUT I WOULD NOT PLAY THE CONSOLE VERSION. I WOULDN'T PLAY THE PC VERSION IF IT WASN'T FOR THE MODS.

don't mind getting it. Still not sure about the impact "Mods" have on the game, though.

WELL, I'VE BEEN GIVING A LOT OF EXAMPLES AND MAYBE SOMEBODY ELSE SHOULD CHIME IN AND SAY HOW GREAT THE MOD WORK IS FOR THE PC GAME.

I'm still hearing the PC version doesn't run as smoothly as the XBOX.

MY GAME RUNS AS SMOOTH AND LOOKS 100 TIMES BETTER THAN THE CONSOLE VERSION.

Thanks, Jim. I got the PC version, installed it and noticed that it runs in slow motion. Any idea what the problem could be?

Make sure you have a decent video card and the latest video drivers . Also you might want to turn down the resolution to see if that helps. Then of course check to make sure you arent running proggies in teh background if you machine doesnt have alot of memory, etc. Things you would normally do to play a game of unreal tournament or something.

When i got the game, i installed it and never had any slowdowns or graphical issues, anywhere in the game. But then again my box is running relatively new hardware.

Re: Question On Mods For PC

List the specifications of your computer.

I have a pretty good computer, IBM, but I found out I had a crappy video card. I solved the entire slow down by getting a new video card and slipping it in. ATI Radeon 7500 128mb. It solved everything.

You might not be able to run the hi-res mod updates without a good video card. Expensive doesn't mean better or necessarily compatible, so don't run out and get one yet.

                    List your specs please.

Thanks, Jim. P4, 1.9 gig, nvidia tnt2 64 video card. I've tried the low res crowd, still running slow. However, if I turn off the crowd, it runs fine. Any thoughts?

Hmmmm, I'm guessing it's your video card. When you turn the crowd off it's black except for the first row of fans?

I know as soon as I went to a 128mb card it worked perfectly and I was able to use all hi-res skies, uniforms and crowds.

In your game settings (after you start the game) look at video settings. Put the game at 800x600 16b and see if it will run o.k with your crowd ON.

Also, someone suggested the latest drivers for your video card. Do you know how to do that?

Not sure how to do that. As I mentioned, if I turn off the crowd, the game runs fine. Probably the video card. You mention hi res uniforms, how can I get those? Are they the standard uniform upgrades for each team at HH.Net? Also, is changing the videocard something a novice can do or should I let a computer store handle this? How much did you spend on your card? Thanks again.
