How CC (and to a lesser extent, Burnett) pitches is going to be a running story all month.
    I agree.

I haven't been paying attention to ESPN the past couple days, but it doesn't surprise me they were all over his start.

He's making big money playing for one of the "Big 4", so it doesn't surprise me that ESPN probably spent 10 minutes on his start.

ESPN is to providing a balanced, unbiased, reasonable and intelligent source for sporting news as the Weather Channel is to providing shows about food and sex. It will never happen.

If you think ESPN is making a huge deal out of one bad outing now, wait until next week if he pitches bad at the Yankees home opener. If the Indians light him up it might just mean that the sky is falling and the end is near.

              awesome...lol.
go to espn.com now and look at the baseball headlines...lmao....tell me which ones don't belong:

              # Pedroia, Beckett lift BoSox by Rays Video | Nelson
              # Lincecum out ater 3, but Giants rip Brewers Video
              # Jurrjens, Braves bullpen shut down Phillies Video
              # Bell tolls Pads' post-Hoffman era with save Video
              # Joba pokes fun at N.Y. drivers, Berra in video
              # Jimenez outduels Haren as Rockies clip D-backs
              # Pujols continues hot start as Cards roll Bucs Video
              # Jays rally to beat Tigers in ninth | Ban alcohol
              # Kennedy throws out first pitch at BoSox opener

every headline is about the outcome or relationship to a game of baseball except who joba is making fun of and who through out the first pitch in a BoSox opener.

                it is ready made news.

                CC+Success = ESPN SUCCESS!!!
                CC+Failure = ESPN SUCCESS!!!
CC+Injure = ESPN Double SUCCESS RAWRR!!!

they can simply run this story w/o much alteration until season's end.

                kinda (not wholly) like TO

                ESPN: TO is Crazyyyyyy! herbiderbidooseldorfie....
ESPN: TO is gonna do something CRAZY!!!borkborkbork
TO: I am a great deep threat and a strong WR on a team with a great ground game and an elite TE, this should really open things up for me...I wish I was getting the ball more.....(most of team: yeah, that would be swell).

ESPN: Did you HEAR THAT?!?! TO IS OFF THE CHAIN!!! He is obliterating that team!!! LOllerLolllergobblegobble!!!

good lord....i wish there was a Daily Show for sports.....I call proof of concept!!!

Re: Why is ESPN so concerned about CC?

He sucks in the AL? You are aware that he won a Cy Young in the AL just two years ago, aren't you? He got off to a hideous start last season in the AL, it happens. Just this week, Brandon Webb, Tim Lincecum, Roy Oswalt, all looked pretty awful in their first starts of the season. It happens. That's why there's 162 games.

Anyways, it's well known at this point that ESPN is a complete East Coast bias media outlet. It's really annoying, since they'll spend more time talking about a losing Yankees team than good teams that are winning, simply because they aren't considered "big market". They've pretty much become a sports tabloid at this point. They care way more about who is the bigger story, not who is the better player or who is the better team, etc.. I just tune in for highlights, I can't stand listening to their painfully stupid "analysis" of anything sports, from their idiot "analysts" like Steve Phillips.
