    Your All-Time MLB Team

ok, assuming you had a choice of whoever you wanted from whatever era you wanted, who would you pick. throw away the steroids era, or the dead ball era, its one game and you can assemble anyone you want. im just curious who everyone would pick. guidelines are as follows: 1 pos player at each position, a dh and 1 bench player... 1 starting pitcher and 1 closer.would you go all power? all defense and speed? whats your ultimate mix.

    C) Johnny Bench
    1B) Lou Gherig
    2B) Lou Whitaker
    SS) Cal Ripken Jr.
    3B) Brooks Robinson
    LF) Ken Griffey Jr.
    CF) Mickey Mantle
    RF) Hank Aaron
    DH) Babe Ruth

    Bench Player - Kirk Gibson

    Starting Pitcher - Bob Gibson

    Closer - Mariano Rivera

    Line-Up
    1) Lou Whitaker
    2) Cal Ripken
    3) Lou Gherig
    4) Babe Ruth
    5) Hank Aaron
    6) Mickey Mantle
    7) Johnny Bench
    8) Ken Griffey Jr.
    9) Brooks Robinson

ok i know i may get smashed on some of my picks, but like i said its all up to you... its the beauty of baseball. go for it lets see what we come up with.

I am going to do my a little differently. I am only going to pick players I have actually seen play. It's too hard to distinguish players you really haven't seen play.

                C: Carlton Fisk

                LF: Barry Bonds (Pre-Steroids)
                CF: Ken Griffey jr.
RF: Tony Gwynn (my all time favorite player so biased)
                DH: Rickey Henderson

                Bench: Paul Molitor

                SP: Jack Morris

Lets just put it this way. If all these teams played each other, his team would not win many games.

too bad whatifsports doesn't allow custom lineups then we can set up a tourney with our teams. Course we'd have to pick individual years for each player but that's a small detail that can be worked out.
