Alan Trammell. He's doing a great job with the Tigers minor league team...oh wait, he's actually managing the Tigers, not much of a difference though Here's hoping he gets a couple years to let all these young guys mature. I think he can be a good coach, but the best manager in baseball couldn't do that much with the Tigers right now.

I wonder how long till Cal Ripken Jr. is a manager...seems like just a matter of time

Gwynn is quite happy at SDSU, and if he takes any big league job, I'm guessing it would be in San Diego.

ya, i don't see gwynn as picking retirement for the time to leave san diego, but they have a great manager in bochy, gwynn knew that and i think that's why he took the job at sdsu to buy time until bochy moves on.

I am so with you guys in this Bob Boone thing. Sometimes, I just just cringe when I hear him talk during pre-game on WLW. At times, he sounds as if he knows nothing about the game. Which I truly don't believe, afterall, he played the hardest postion there is to play for so many years.

I don't perceive the Rose thing to happen even if he is re-instated. I never thought about Bench...but I'm not too sure of his interest.

                  Valentine in Cincinnati? That's intriguing.

you only get 3-4 years out of him before his routine gets old. Better not hire him unless you have the talent or the GM to win that soon

I'll give you a name out of leftfield (well not really since you know what team I root for heh heh) ERNIE WHITT! This guy could be a really good MLB manager. He managed the Canadian Baseball team a couple yrs back and had them playing some good ball. He also seems to be a bit of a fiery manager, the kind of guy who would light a fire under his team's butt when they're not performing well.

Yeah, exactly... the Dodgers need some offense. Tracy can't help them in that department even if he picks up a bat himself. It's not his fault he doesn't have any hitters. As for Lasorda, he's too old. I can't see him lasting a whole season.
