Lol. I think I have AJ Hinch's autograph on a baseball back from his days with the A's. Good for him and good luck!

Re: DBacks fire Bob Melvin
If anything, Josh Byrnes, the GM, should be fired. Just look at this:
On December 3, 2007 the Diamondbacks traded Carlos Quentin to the Chicago White Sox for first base prospect Chris Carter.
On December 14, in a blockbuster trade, the Diamondbacks acquired starting RHP Dan Haren from the Oakland Athletics for six players: LHP Brett Anderson, LHP Dana Eveland and LHP Greg Smith; the above-mentioned just-acquired infielder Chris Carter; and outfielders Aaron Cunningham and Carlos Gonzalez. The team also traded relief pitcher Jose Valverde, who led the major leagues in saves in 2007 with 47, to the Houston Astros for reliever Chad Qualls, RHP Juan Gutiérrez and IF/OF Chris Burke. (Valverde was expected to immediately become the Astros' closer.)
Think about what they could have instead. They could have an outfield with Quentin, Upton and Young/Byrnes, their minor league system would still be very potent with guys like Anderson and Eveland ready to join the rotation and they would still have a legit closer.Comment

Re: DBacks fire Bob Melvin
Well, Melvin isn't intense. I don't mean loud, I mean intense. Terry Francona, Joe Torre, Charlie Manuel , Mike Scoiscia, are all even-keeled yet intense; meaning they can get mean when they need to, but don't go all Larry Bowa all the time. You can only do so much to screw with a lineup.
The poster a couple posts up who said half his lineup isn't hitting, that's why you fire him. They're too relaxed. Don't know why AJ Hinch. I guess it's like the Isiah Thomas idea, if you can't win with your own players, go away.
P.S. Your biggest loss is Bryan Price quitting. He's one of the best, and at one time was a pitching coach "managerial prospect" like Bud Black.Comment
