Re: All-Roids team vs. All-Clean team?
While I also have my doubts he did them, I don't think that's a 100% certainty when you look at his era as a whole.
The nagging injuries also could make one wonder about steroid use ... though, again, I tend to believe Griffey was clean.
But I'm not betting my mortgage on it.Comment

Re: All-Roids team vs. All-Clean team?
i think an all clean team could do a lot of damage.
1, i don't think you can find, say, 5 quality pitchers (starters and relievers) that were juicing.
2, Andre Dawson, Ryne Sandberg, Ozzie Smith, Tony Gwynn, Joe Carter, Fred McGriff, Cal Ripken, Rickey Henderson(?), Mike Schmidt...
Yeah, you could get a great team, and i think they would whoop ***.
Personally I would have went back further and gotten Willie Mays, Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth,...etc.When rookie Randall Cobb was told by this U.S. Marine that he was a big fan of the wide receiver, Cobb said, “I think I’m a bigger fan of yours.”Comment

The problem is you have to go back before steroids to come up with an all-clean team. Of course they were all taking speed from the candy dishes in the club house. Oh, and Mike Schmidt said he would have taken steroids if they were available when he was playing.
