I wonder what triggered them to check his fingers in the first place. ESPN has an atricle, but it's not very clear. I am wondering if he has been doing this the whole year or just started it this game.Comment

They said that he tried to get some of it off, and the trainer came out the help him. My guess is when the second base umpire saw that he may have gotten suspicious and went in for a look. It just said it "lead" him to the mound (the 2nd base umpire).Comment

There's a new article up which explains everything. Apparently he had a blister and in between the 2nd and 3rd inning, he put glue on the blister so it didn't get worse. Then after he walked the first batter, he tried to get the glue off because he couldn't feel the ball, and then the umpires saw it and soon tossed him. Sounds pretty innocent, I'm glad that he wasn't purposely cheating.Comment
