Wow, I can't believe Kinsler didn't get in with Pedroia dropping out. I mean, I don't think Kinsler's having a great season, but he undoubtedly deserves to be the number two second baseman with Pedroia not going. He's having a better year than Pena.

Just like in the NL, where Werth was picked as an injury replacement over the more deserving Kemp, we get a manager taking his own guy once again in what I think is clear favoritism.

Granted, I think it was a bigger injustice in the NL, because Pena at least was a Final Vote candidate as well as Kinsler.

I don't know why anyone gives a crap about the All-Star game. Fans vote in the starters which is just a popularity contest and the rest of the roster is the same thing, just amongst the players. Or its the manager's favorite guy. I don't even pay attention to it anymore because it's not worth it to be outraged by the selection process.

Because Kinsler doesn't play for you the other 162 games.

It's a crappy reason but I'm sure it probably plays a factor.

Because now it determines which team has home field advantage in the World Series. That is a big deal.

Oh, I agree 100% it's a crappy reason and I'm fairly confident it was the predominant factor...lol.

Trevor Hoffman and Zach Duke added to the NL roster to replace Broxton and Cain. They are both deserving picks. If this were couple days ago, I would be even more miffed about Gallardo being left out, but his last two starts have been subpar. I do think Javier Vasquez has a definite beef, though.

Since the AL has three 3rd basemen, Michael Young could always move to 2nd. It's where he used to play, until Texas moved him to SS......then 3rd.

Yup, certainly hard to argue against it. I was personally rooting for Grienke, but I don't really see how it's ever a bad choice to put Halladay out there.

Lincecum starting for the NL. No surprises on that one either, I think.

Longoria is now out. Replaced by Chone.

This thing is becoming like the Pro Bowl. They might actually end up w/2 Nats @ this rate.
