If they move Halladay, they should make whoever acquires him take Vernon Wells as well. His contract is also insane.

Vernon Wells will die in Toronto. No way anyone takes his contract.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

There is no chance in hell any club, especially in the current economic climate, could/would want to take on Halladay and Well's contracts.

Between 2011-2014, Wells will make a combined 86 million dollars. His contract has topped Zito's as the worst in baseball. Not only does Wells have a monster contract, it looks like his contract is playing a major part in Doc being shopped around.

The Jays are simply in a terrible position right now. The GM has inflicted major damage to the ballclub. It almost makes me want to puke.

Don't forget AJ Burnett, Vernon Wells, and Lyle Overbay.

Man, the Jays made their big off season a few years ago, spent money and claimed to be legit and competing with the Yankees/Sox and so forth, and look at them now. Burnett, gone after a few mediocre seasons of injury and collecting a paycheck. Vernon, sucks and they're stuck with him. Overbay, sucks. Ryan, sucks and now gone.

BJ was the one who was like...REALLY overpaid though. They gave him a ridiculous contract.

You really gotta wonder where this franchise is going from here.

It about made me want to puke when the "don't know anything outside of the hometown team" Twins fans all jumped out wanting to sign this "veteran closer" to fix our bullpen.

Arguably one of the worst free agent contracts ever signed and probably the worst in Blue Jays history.

I don't get how J.P. Ricciardi still has his job.

We all said he should've never been signed to that deal...I know Asianflow was very much against it as were the other Jays fans on this board.

And it was heavily backloaded so we could sign other free agents.

Vernon Wells sucks so badly. He can't hit for avg or power and swings at everything. Just brutal.

Well for the sake of Blue Jays fans and the team itself Paul Beeston needs to take a long hard look at what this clown has done to the team before heading into the offseason.

Actually the worst signing in Jays history was Mike Sirotka. Guy never threw a pitch for the team.

Actually that was a trade not a signing. A trade that ultimately didn't work out for either team as David Wells went 5-7 with a 4.47 ERA in 16 starts with the White Sox and Brian Simmons hit .178 with 2 HR's and 8 RBI's in 60 games for the Blue Jays.

You and every Jays fan is asking the same thing. I just hope he doesn't get the opportunity to trade Roy I don't want him effing that up for us before he gets canned.
