I was always extremely high on Brandon League because he was always a 90+ peak player in my Mogul leagues. Sorry I jinxed him

It's better that way than the Orioles the past few years...guys that weren't top 100 prospects but put up solid numbers in the minors but still projected to be good (see: Garrett Olson, Hayden Penn, Radhames Liz, Adam Loewen although he was highly regarded) and then completely blew in the majors. Things have changed with Bergesen and Hernandez this year though.

Wells got a huge contract basically for two good seasons that both looked like outliers in his total body of work. In defense of JP though, Rios looked like a better player than what he's become. He could still turn things around, but he definitely hasn't developed the way most expected.
As soon as Delgado left, Wells became crap.

I threw a party when I heard the great news. Cut off the loose baggage.

BJ cleared waivers and apparently the Cubs are interested in signing him.

Trying to send Lou Piniella to an early grave perhaps?.

              2. The Glaus for Rolen trade was basically the equivalent of the Jays robbing STL blind. Thankfully for STL they have great minor league depth so the deal doesn't look as bad as it was for them.
How do you figure? Rolen was terrible last year, and while he's having a decent season this year, you know he's going to get hurt at some point.

See it from St Louis' point of view: They had a guy who was getting into it with LaRussa and had to go. It's not like there were a ton of offers for the guy, considering everyone thought he was done due to his constant DL time. They got power hitting third baseman. Not exactly the worst trade ever, considering they were just dumping Rolen to begin with.

                  SMH.

You should really look into cheering for another team. You obviously get no enjoyment whatsoever out of the Cubs. Do you not remember the Dusty Baker era. Now that was bad management.

Sorry to get this thread off topic. But this guy absolutely kills me sometimes.

you are entitled to your opinion, and i to mine.

it kills me that someone might actually think that "well, they will do whatever they are gonna do" is management. or that playing baker who didn't produce in colorado and isn't producing in chicago is a good idea. how long did this guy allow soriano to stink it up at the top of the order, even as he was hitting <.240?

is lou better than dusty? surely, but to what degree? any other team with any other manager and the stretch of play that we saw between october of last year and thru much of this year, and we would be hearing similar cries.

last year was great, no doubt about it...but the lack of energy and motivation that has seemed to blanket the team for all but a small part of this season is absurd. The expectations need to be met with an equal mentality, and they have not. lou, with his nonchalance, looks more and more like dusty every day. everything about his manner and body language leads me to believe he couldn't give two ****s.

Last thing I'm going to say before this goes too much off topic.

It just seems that you're always complaining about something when it comes to the Cubs. I for one, would look into following a team that didn't make me miserable. Sports is a form of entertainment. Something that people enjoy.

It just doesn't seem like you do too much enjoying.
