    The 40 man roster is garbage. All it does is protect 40 guys from the rule 5 draft in the winter.

    Not having an expanded roster in September is bad. Not having one in Spring Training is inexcusable. What is the point of spring training if not to get a look at the guys who don't play everyday? And, to top it off, the game picks your 25 players for you when your start a season. With the options affecting roster moves, this makes it hard to ever get a look at a rookie without risking losing a veteran to waivers (unless you put him on the DL). \

    I also tried moving the guys up and down during spring training and that didn't protect them from being claimed off waivers or losing options.
