I suppose Bonds isn't on steroids too right?

Ask anybody that know about bodybuilding and weight traning, for Bonds to put on the weight that he did, at the age he did, in the short time that he did, is almost impossible.

Bonds is as much of a scumbag as Sammy if he corked his bat. And McGwire, I bet he never used anthing to enhance his performance either.

Let's look at the real problem in baseball, poor pitching and too many teams. When we get rid of a few teams and get solid pitching through the league, HRs will go down.

You're an idiot. How can you start in on the "well Bonds is on steroids" thing 'cuz Sosa got busted? What the hell? Bonds is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF SOSA, think about it

Sosa- Blows kisses to the camera and showboats
Bonds- For the most part only talks to bay area media, stays quiet.

Sosa- Obsessed with home run records
Bonds- Doesn't care, Just wants a ring.

Sosa- Always swinging at pitches in the dirt
    Bonds- Setting ungodly walk records

Sosa- simply put, not a very smart player, or individual
Bonds- When he does talk, it is usually something profound, not just funny

    Sosa- "Please, everybody love me"
Bonds- "Leave me alone and let me play my game"

Now, if you prefer Sosa to Bonds, that's fine if that's your style. If you dislike them both, that's fine too. But to convict Bonds because Sosa is busted is just flat out wrong.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

I would guess since you live in CA that you're bias to the fact. But you know at some point in time that this inccident would drag Bonds and McGuire in it. But I also think he made a good point. Just accept his statment as an opinion and not a fact.

BTW, even tho I live in Chicago I am in no way a Cubs or Sammy fan. I'm WhiSox. If anybody should be corked his bat, its big Frank.

Ya, I admit that I am bias, and a Bonds fan, but like I said in my post I prefer the quiet "Let's go get a ring" over the showboat, "Let's break a ton of individual records and blow kisses." That's just my preference
And yes, I knew eventually someone would drag the Bonds steroids thing back out.
Yet, I think it's important to remember, Bonds hasn't been busted for anything. If he ever is, I will concede, and I will be very disappointed, and disgraced, but I won't start pointing the finger at Austin Kearns or whoever else is on top at that time, that' s just plain and simple B.S.

anyways, and I hope the Sox find a better answer than firing Manuel, I like him 'cuz he's from my home town

NP, ppl need a scapegoat for everything. And Bonds just happens to be the scapegoat. The thing that gets everybody riled up is that the CUbs are one of the most watched teams in baseball and to find out that everyones beloved hero, Sammy cheating brings the worst out of some ppl. I've been hearing it all day. Everybody I've talked to has mentioned Bonds and his steriod use. Its like finding out Jordan really did have something special in his shoes to make him jump higher.

Re: Whats in the bat, Sammy?

Chicago Sports Radio apparently interviewed a physicist today. I didn't actually hear it, but it's been talked about in subsequent shows.

What was reported was that by corking the bat, the hitter is able to increase bat speed ... thereby increasing distance (on good contact, of course). However, corking the bat also reduces the bat's mass ... thereby reducing potential distance. It was approximated that a corked bat would only provide an additional 4 feet or so to the distance of a hit ball.

I don't know for sure. I'm not a physicist. Just reporting what I heard.

That being said, I'm a die-hard Cubs fan, and this situation is extremely disappointing.

Dude, I feel for ya eaglepride. If any player on the Giants was found guilty of this or steroid use I'd be heartbroken. If it was Bonds, [censored - you naughty boy], I'd probally cry
That's the bad thing, baseball has suffered a black eye due to this, especially since Sammy was such an ambasodor, a role which he sought out. Now, it's just bad for everybody time will erase this though, maybe not for Sammy but for baseball.

You know what would be best, if Sammy hits a homerun in his next game and saws the bat in half right there and there is no cork, that'd be great.
