    Re: Red Sox/Tigers Brawl

The umps were HORRIBLE all the way around. For the record, the umps do usually give warnings to the benches before ejecting players but it is not mandatory and it is not a warning to the managers only. Porcello wasn't trying to hit Youkilis, it just got away at probably the worst time. It's complete BS that Youkilis throws equipment at Porcello (which is worse than bush) who is trying to avoid the fight, yet Porcello is tossed and both are given equal 5 game suspensions. The whole thing should have been avoided with bench warnings as soon as Cabrera got hit. Instead we lost a game we had a good chance of winning and we lose Porcello for another start, all so these idiot umps can pander to the home crowd. And yes, I know there were bad calls both ways. Boston's the better team at this point but it's a shame we have to face Beckett down 0-2 in the series.

It's not that it's a warning to the managers only, but you don't see a manager ejected without a warning.

Porcello went after 2 of the Red Sox batters, but he surely could have picked a better target...

Poor kid. Ozzie basically ended his big league career. I remember watching the highlights and the kid pulled his jersey over his head and was up in tears after Ozzie chewed him out.

one thing about Shawon, he just never shrugged off the high and tight pitches...he'd look at you, point that bat and literally DARE the pitcher to do that ish again....

and if he was hit up high, bet your ***, Shawon was rushing the mound...

It was a big thing going back and forth between both teams, they needed to settle it. I thought it was funny when Porcello kind of started to run away from Youk. But, then he took Youk down!

Technically, Porcello. But I don't know why everyone is bagging on Youk or parading around Porcello for taking him down. Batters often look foolish when they rush the mound. They have to run full speed to make it to the pitcher and then they get one shot before they're at the bottom of a pile.

That's probably the scariest thing. Being at the bottom of one of those piles. That stuff scares me so bad.

Now the Tigers are going to lose this game since they had to bring in Lambert, thank you hothead Youkilis and the stupid umps.

Porcello doesn't throw 100 mph. And two he wasn't getting balls thrown over his head left and right. Great exaggeration in that post though.

^^^Last time I checked the Tigers are not the Yankees.

Bottom line is what Youkilis did hurt his team just as it hurt the Tigers. Both teams are in a race to try to make the playoffs and getting suspended doesn't help that. You can't afford to do that in a tight race. That is the biggest reason why he should have just gone to first instead of charging the mound.
