personally, i think Bowa needs to go...he already ran the best (arguably) player this franchise has seen in years outta town in Scott Rolen....doesnt seem St. Louis had any trouble resigning him...hmmmm......for that, and that alone, i would fire him..........then again im a Mets fan, and everyone knows we can fix every other teams problems but our own LOL....cheers

I agree that Bowa should go, and I'm not a typical Philadelphia fan who only thinks with his emotions.
The bottom line is that Bowa is getting a free ride because he was such a fan favorite for so many years. The bottom line is that he has no idea how to manage a pitching staff, or his regulars for that matter. Bowa's a nice coach, either a bench coach or a 3b coach, but he's not a good manager.
If you look at alot of the successful managers today, at least the ones who get alot out of what they have (Ken Macha, Bob Melvin, etc) they are guys who are more calculating, I hate to say it. Their SMART!Comment

Re: Bowa,Phillies and Pat Burell
David Bell is an above average defender. I'll guarantee you that, but yes, the Phillies overpaid. Why do you think the Mariners replaced him. Although Cirillo isn't much of an upgrade(although he SHOULD be) he is better then David.Comment

Cirilo's is really solid...he's like the 2nd best defensive 3rd baseman behind Rolen.Comment

Cirillo was a great hitter in coors field. Then again, so was Dante Bichette.Comment
