I consider myself to be one the so called baseball "purists" but I think the 'home field advantage' is an awesome idea!

I can't believe not everyone would want this.

^ I think its an excellent idea. It makes the All Star Game more important, giving it a purpose other than bragging rights between the two leagues.

I think it is a good idea too. Anything so we won't have another tie. That was one of the most disappointing things I have ever seen.

I agree. Bud Selig will never hear the end of it for calling that game . .

What was Bud supposed to do? Pitch?

That game being called a tie was a direct reflection of the players' attitudes towards the thing.

It used to not need to have "something" on the line to be important. Guys used to fight it out 'tooth-and-nail' to win the thing for 'braggin' rights'.

Unfortunately, players nowadays are happy to get that bonus, show up for a couple innings and be at dinner before the game is even over.

This, is why the game was called a tie.

                            Don't blame Bud.
