    HH: Pitching

Is it me or is pitching a sort of a nuisance in HH. I have the simulation slider set at full, Pitching Count up 1 click and Pitching Fatigue down one click. Anytime I want to throw a strike.....it sails out of the strike zone....but not everytime. So if I want to take a chance, I always wind up starting the count on 2-0.
I'm not having any luck striking out batters and rarely do I get ahead of the count because of the control problems.

    Any tips or suggestions..??

I had the same exact problems when I used to play High Heat. After converting to MVP, I don't have the same problems.

On the same topic, can someone explain what the effects are of the Pitch Count Slider and the Pitch Fatigue slider? Also, does it truly matter whether or not a reliever enters the game if he has spent time in the bullpen or not?

That's a good question about the bullpen cause you are never notified when the reliever is properly warmed up to be pitched. There are many many flaws in this game but I still love it.........weird.

MVP strikeouts are few and far between.

Pitchers may get 3-4 K's a game, if they are LUCKY.

You'd also be lucky to throw more than 50 pitches a game

MVP is lot'sa fun, but it was things like that and others that were so unrealistic that led me into trading it in.

I see so many franchises with MVP and people are saying how they're "50-11" and such. *THAT* was why MVP was it for me. Too easy, even on the hardest difficulty level. No sliders or anything. Just too easy.

                            Re: HH: Pitching

I guess that's what makes HH so realistic. You aren't going to throw a strike everytime you want to in real life - so you won't in HH either.

Pitching's very difficult. To want to throw a ball on the outside corner and then actually doing it are two totally different things. That's what makes HH so much fun IMO. Typically I K about 8-9 guys and walk 1-2 with strikeout type pitchers. Just remember, in HH, where and what you throw dramatically affect this (fastball in on the hands should be followed with something soft away, but not all the time or the CPU will catch onto this).

I haven't seen any other baseball games that reflect this so well. Every other game I play, I'm able to paint the corners with ease. Doesn't accurately reflect pitching IMO.

BULLPEN: It takes 10 pitches to have a bullpen guy warmed up. A mound visit equals 3 pitches. This is from last year's manual so I assume the same applies. This is how I gauge my guys.
