Good point..Kendall does leave the bat on his shoulder early in the count.

Here's a thought: the last two times the Pirates had a valuable lefty in the bullpen, they were traded with favorable results:

Jason Christensen to St. Louis for Jack Wilson
Ricardo Rincon to Cleveland for Brian Giles

So, since history has a way of repeating itself, can we expect to get a surprisingly good return for Scott Sauerbeck?

I've been pretty busy at work lately, so I haven't been able to post as much (damn work getting in the way of my sports talk!!!)

I think that Bonifay and the Bucs fell into the trap that ALL major league teams fall into. 1 good season = big contract. Same happend with KY. Same happened with Ramirez (although I think he was the only one that should have gotten a contract). Ramirez is at least very young and has a ton of potential. As everyone has said about Kendall, his defense is awful. A team can handle that if his offense is through the roof (cough cough, Piazza, cough) but Kendall is no Piazza. I hope that Cota can step in in the next year or 2 and make a difference.

      Also, Giles for Weaver STINKS!
      MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates, Colorado Rockies

      NBA: Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic

To be honest, and not to sound like a major homer, but Giles for anything short of Sosa STINKS! Otherwise, we'll take a bullpen full of hardcore relievers for him...

I really don't know if I'm in favor of trading Sauerbeck. He's had his ups and downs this year, but when he's "on" he's damn near unhittable, and he's looked good his past few outings.

It seems like it's like a headcold in the bullpen. Sauerbeck and Boehringer start pitching okay, and Beimel starts to suck...argh!

The Bucs today demoted Duaner Sanchez before he threw a pitch for the Bucs. He was late showing up for the game yesterday and I guess Mac went into a profanity laced tirade and today he sent him back to Nashville. Called up Meadows. Mac says "I hope he learns a lesson from this".

I can't blame them...you just don't show up late, especially when you've just been called up the game before.

Thank goodness the Bucs managed to salvage one game. Yet another no decision for Kip Wells too.....
