    Will retire after 2006 season.

    Houston Astros slugger Jeff Bagwell, who grew up in Killingworth and played for the University of Hartford, said he plans to retire after the 2006 season, The Middletown Press reported in Tuesday's editions.


    i think he will get to 500 HR and possibly to the HOF..Preety good glove he had.

    He will be 38 when his contract ends. Right now he is a average 1B and we are spending what.....8 or 9 million on an average 1B. Just think of what houston could do with that money. But anyways so far he has had an awesome career and should get a shot at the HOF.

                Hehe, yeah pass over the good [censored - you naughty boy]. Wait, better not. The brain damage isn't worth it.

                Bagwell is waaay above average. He has one of the surest gloves in all of baseball. Not to mention the guy can hit 30 homeruns with a messed up shoulder... gotta love it!

                  Bagwell is waaay above average. He has one of the surest gloves in all of baseball. Not to mention the guy can hit 30 homeruns with a messed up shoulder... gotta love it!

                      I consider Bagwell to be a lot better than average. But anyway, I find it kind of strange that he is saying this when he is planning to retire three years from now. Usually you talk about this stuff the year before, but not three years.
