There is no way he has an ERA under 4 next year. Just doens't have the stuff to do so. This year is a fluke.

snepp explained all of the reasons above. Just doesn't miss enough bats.

Overall this year, the run support for the cubs is 4.38, for the mariners, it is 3.98. So saying that the cubs get "diddly-****" for run support, if wells was as good as what people are saying, he should've won those games. Felix's ERA is 2.65, while wells has a 2.90. I don't think Wells is bad, I just think he isn't as good as all Cubs fans are claiming he is. Felix's record is 14-5 and is playing on a not-so-good offensive team, but still piling up the wins.

Wells could be good in the future, no doubt at 27, BUT FELIX IS ONLY 23, and ESPN has him as a top-5 Cy Young candidate, along with Grienke, Verlander, CC, and Halladay. Wells, however, is not in the NL discussion for Cy Young.

Cubs fans need to figure out that Wells will have ups and downs, he's a rookie yeah, but not a complete stud like what I hear from them.

You were doing well until you used ESPN's opinion to back your reasons.

ESPN's opinion on the Cy Young race isn't important in stating the value of a player. I'd argue ESPN isn't paying attention to Wells.

          you sound ridiculous.

          1) using the runs/game for the season to counter my point about 3-4 particulary games (most of which I saw, all of which I read the box scores) is simply ********, man. Seriously. "if wells is as good as everyone is saying he should've won those games..."....hilarious, man.

2)I don't recall too many people, if anyone, saying Wells is CY material. ROY? you bet. I know I didn't say Cy Young...though, it could be argued that if he had those extra 3 wins, that he would have rightfully been in the discussion around late july.

3)ANy cubs fan (and any fan, period) is aware that Wells will have ups and downs...in fact, we have witnessed them...lol...i don't even think anyone called him a stud...i thought we were in agreement that he seems to be a decent to above average sinkerballer that pitches to contact (more than a few of those have had success).

wow....overreacting post of the year, imo, bro.
