It went straight at his face. His fortunate to not lose the tooth like I did, but his swelling was worse than mine.Comment

Re: Anyone see what happened to A-Rod and that...
I'm sure that did hurt.
During highschool baseball practice I fouled a pitch off my bat straight into my right eye. I couldn't see from the eye for 4 hours and my pupil was dark red. I also ended up breakin my eyebrow bone (strange eh?). Doctor said if the break had been a half inch higher, it wouldve cut through my sinuses and I could have lost vision for good.
The only permanant injury to my eye is in my pupil. It's kidna funny now (4 years after the injury) b/c my right pupil doesn't dilate or contract. It remains the same night or light.
Hopefully ARod is alright. Could have been worse than it was."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Your pupils dialate in the dark (meaning they get bigger) so you can see through the darkness. They contract in the sun to avoid direct sunlight.
My pupil right now remains contracted as a result of the trama it sustained from the hit. It doesn't really do much to me b/c it's only one half of my site but I guess it does affect me in some sense that I don't realize."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied.
