it is very easy to hit balls to gaps...but when i hit a ball.the fielder is preety close to it but it still goes by him leading me to get xtar bases.

There are still major fielding problems in this game. The computer is too slow when it comes to throws, and there is no urgency on either side when the outfield is throwing it in to make a play at the plate or something. Many times, I see the computer not run at lines in the infield that they could get or knock down. I think fielding is a number 1 priority.

Thank you. A huge thing is outfielder's arms. I mean there isn't ONE outfielder in the game that can reach home plate on a fly from half-way in the outfield. It's a joke. And players lob balls waaaay too high in the air, even Vlady. The throwing needs to be much more like ASB's where good players have cannon's and there are actually outfield assists. I've played roughly 200 games in WSB and have 3 outfield assists that I can recall and none of them were at homeplate.
Plus add an expansion mode, it's the only reason I own ASB (well, plus the OF's arms). Add more batting stances and some smoother pitching animations. There are alot of little nit-picking things I can think of like someone else said but I can't complain at all about this year's version.

Re: How can Sega improve WSB for next year?
I don't think this game would be entirely fun online. I mean, sure it'd be a nice game, but I don't really think this is the best playing baseball game. It's not bad, but I need a better animations and a better pitching model before I'm ready to play this online. As of right now no game can beat MVP in 2 player entertainment.Comment

Re: How can Sega improve WSB for next year?
I think that graphics is the last thing to look at on this game. What I watn to see most is real-life player faces, player stances, and player scaling. And then I wanna see the ball land in the crowd the RIGHT way. I wanna see better and more REALISTIC replays and commentary ala MVP. I wanna see more ESPN. I wanna see a better and more far away fielding view. I wanna see better menus and more gameplay modes. I wanna see updated stadium details (some stadiums didn't look like themselves too much). I wanna see a better blue in the game (it's too light in WSB 2K3). I wanna see a better minor league system. I wanna see human sliders. I wanna see better animations (WAY too choppy and stiff in WSB 2K3). I wanna see an audio name database when you create/edit players. I wanna see a better adjusted strike zone. I wanna see foul tips. I wanna see real coaches and every real name (please no programmer names again). I wanna see realtime shadows and the game advance from evening to night... you know what I mean. I wanna see splash hits. I wanna see the announcers and crowd for once recognize something... like if it's a walk off, the announcers don't change their tone a bit, neither does the crowd, and also for playoffs, etc. I wanna see real-life attendance thingies, like Montreal should NEVER be packed, same with Comerica, and the crowd should change accordingly. I wanna see more homerun celebrations, even if it's just a regular walk or jog, we need more of those. I wanna see more then two kinds of swings in the game. I wanna see stadiums with retractible roofs do their part, especially if there's rain, so... I wanna see rain, but the skies should alternate during the game... like kinda cloudy to sunny, or cloudy to a light rain, and games should have to be postponed or cancelled. We need more crowd heckles, even though you've done a great... fantastic... FUNNY job with them. I wanna see more cutscenes for homeruns, and other things. I wanna have different buttons for leaping and diving, and not to mention I wanna see guys often slide for balls... which brings me to my next suggestion, I wanna have a user-controlled sliding button. I wanna see speed actually work according to the player's attributes. I wanna see pitchers not try to pick us off and get us out every time we just take 1 extra step, it needs to be a bit easier. I DON'T wanna see David Eckstein hit a 486 homer off my low and outside slider. I wanna see balls hit the ground off throws in the infield so the first baseman will have to actually scoop some. I wanna see online play, but please Broadband only for PS2... a baseball game CANNOT have lag during a pitch, and WSB 2K2 for Dreamcast had that problem. I wanna see players actually charge the mound, and even if this makes the game rated K&A or Teen, let us control whoever we are, the pitcher or batter, and you can let him run around and try to bring guys down while they are piling on you... I know it's hard, but yeah. I wanna see Ichiro slap hit. I wanna see the K-Zone again, but in different use, so that they automatically use it as a replay for you sometimes, and then it shows the zone, and it actually shows the players and stuff like they do it on Sunday Night Baseball. I wanna see fans reach out for foul balls and home runs if it's near them (I mean please, Triple Play 96 for PC even had this)
. I wanna see balks, delayed pickoffs, and snap throws by the catcher. I wanna see more leaps at the wall to try to rob homers. I wanna see pitchers warm up in the bullpen while I'm playing the game. I wanna unlock things (players, stadiums, jerseys, etc.). I wanna see broken bats and more passed balls. I wanna see not only different kinds of ways to get ejected, but I wanna see suspensions. I wanna see pitchers actually pitch Bonds right
. I wanna see the game respect retired jerseys. I don't wanna see so many people make the Hall of Fame. I wanna see player collision. I wanna see flashes go off in the stands... like cameras? I wanna see a bigger variety of fans also, and please not as many green shirts... more of one color per team thingy in the stands. I wanna see more passed balls. I wanna see different animations when a batter is walking up to the box. I wanna see different behind the pitcher cams... like a wee bit higher up, or the cam where it is directly behind the pitcher. I wanna see realistic crowd chants to either a specific team or player. I wanna see actual salary... I mean not only that, but show money instead of budget points (I'm not that sure if baseball games can do that though). I wanna see the players actually move their mouth and talk (like in the SEGA Sports NFL games). I wanna see players spit
! I wanna see an ESPN Bottom Line Sports Ticker, and I want the stadium scoreboard to work, and the out-of-town scores to work. I don't wanna see so many injuries, not to mention so many long lasting injuries, not to mention so many long lasting injuries when the player didn't even have to do with the play, or if he did, the injury should be because of something he actually did in the play. I wanna see better pregame and post game. I wanna have more control in the instant replays, and not have those magnets stopping me from even reaching the warning track (even though I found a weird glitch to get to the other side of the stadium... like in the stands, but it's not that cool... it's not that helpful anyways). I wanna see my scout actually scout somebody (I'm in my second year and he's only scouted one guy). I wanna find a way to pitch to Sosa without him homering. I don't wanna see outfielders get to gappers so quickly and cut off balls, or track down so many deep fly balls so easily, ESPECIALLY in Polo Grounds or on that hill in Minute Maid Park. I wanna see fans boo on players that have just been traded away and that are coming back to play against their own team. I wanna see fans come see rivalry games and have more boos in those too, and SOMETIMES (not all the time) have fans throw back away team homers. And last but not least, I wanna see turf looks and ACT like turf, and grass act like grass.
Now, I don't even expect ESPN WSB to have even 1/3 of this list, but EVENTUALLY this game should have all of this stuff before they start releasing this game on the PS3 and Xbox Next. If you guys read this list, let me know what will be the impossible and what you agree on. I just love WSB 2K3, but it seems a bit incomplete.Comment

What I don't get is they already have a baseball game complete. Why can't they start working on the ideas you brought up MuffinMcFluffin? If I were one of the programmers I would be trying to get all of this in, it's not like it takes that long to get a lot of this into the game.Comment

Re: How can Sega improve WSB for next year?
It's not that it takes long, it's the memory it takes up, and the money it costs. It would be hard, and it may be a little time consuming. Plus, it is a BIG list... I don't know if some of them can even be put in for the first year of ESPN WSB on the PS3!
BTW today is my birthday!!! 15 baby!Comment
