            Now you all know why Sherril was let go by the O's. He absolutely stinks in the pen. Anyways I don't see Vincente Padilla pulling off a win today. The Dodgers may be down 2-0 heading into the weekend.

                I'll admit, that was a bit much. It looked like he was staring down the Phillies' bench for a while.

                  I have never, in seventeen years that this guy's pitched, uttered these words;

                  ...Go Pedro Martinez.

                    If he can keep up his bullpen work from the season and this game 1, the phillies bullpen will go from shaky to decent.

                    Hamels just isn't himself. His stuff tonite was really good, but his cool veins have turned hot. He lost it in the dugout, and showed a lot of negative mannerisms throughout the game. You never see that from him the past 2-3 years. Hope he turns it around, but I just don't think we'll see the 7-8 IP 2 ER performance (last year's norm) out of him from here on out. If he manages 6 innings 3 runs from this point on, I will take it.

                    good win, and let's go pedro for tomorrow.
                    I agree with all of this.

                    Hamels isn't that stopper he was last year. When you put him on the mound in 2008, especially in the postseason, the game would really only be 2-3 innings because you knew he'd shut them down for the first 7. Now... I guess it's the same, because he's still good enough to pitch against anyone, but instead of shutting down the opposing team, you'll be tied when he's pulled.

                      I felt like Hamels did a pretty good job for you guys yesterday. He isn't as dominant this year as last year, but the ump did him no favors. And until that last inning, he was getting frustrated or anything. He just went there, handled his business.

                                Man the Dodger batters are making Pedro look like the Pedro of old. If they swing at one more pitch up and pop up....

                                This game feels like a Sunday afternoon final game of a three game series... great scheduling by mlb. Four days off and then 2 games in less than 24 hours.
