    GM of the Year?

<!-- / icon and title --> <!-- message -->It's gotta go to Ned Colletti in the National League.

Sure he didn't get Cliff Lee or Roy Halladay but we don't need them. He picked up George Sherrill to make the best bullpen even better. His ERA was 0.76 with the dodgers.

Picked up Thome for more power off the bench. Hasn't really done anything but was apart of the comeback on Thursday.

How bout signing Orlando Hudson in the off-season? coming off of surgery and got him for a bargain price. Hit a cycle on opening day in LA. He didn't do quite well towards the end of the year.

The pickup of Vicente Padillia has been amazing. He pitched a great game tonight against the Cardinals today 7 shutout innings.

Jon Garland was great eating up innings as the 6th starter and he a huge for us.

Ronnie Belliard had the clutch hit against Franklin to tie up the game on Thursday. He hit almost more HRs with the Dodgers than he did with the Nationals lol.

Brad Ausmus signing was great for the bench, he was a great leader.

The Angels GM deserves the award in the AL. Signing Abreu, making the trade for Kazmir, re-signing Juan Rivera.

Who would you give it to in the AL and NL?

Ned Colletti definitely has a good shot. I wouldn't be surprised to see Rockies GM Dan O'Dowd get a few votes for firing Clint Hurdle. Of course, getting the Phillies another World Series run with a division win also puts Ruben Amaro Jr. in the argument.

And I'm having a hard time looking past Bill Smith of Minnesota for the AL Award. Building a team of mostly no-names and winning a division, he'll get credit for it. Jack Zduriencik of Seattle is a close second.

      This is easy. Ruben Amaro.

Signs Raul Ibanez, trades for Cliff Lee. No two moves were better than these.

Ah, didn't realize it's only given to one executive.

I gotta go with Bill Smith of Minnesota then.

Over the last decade, the award has gone to the small/mid-market GM with the surprising playoff team.

I don't know, I feel like there's gotta be a better choice than the Twins GM. I mean, his only positive contributions to building the team this year were getting Cabrera and Pavano, and listing Pavano there is a bit of a stretch.

Who's the Phillies GM? I'd give it to him for getting Lee at half the price they could have gotten Halladay at. That was some good GM-ing.

Trying to be impartial as possible, I gotta go with Zduriencik in Seattle. He took over a 100+ loss team, had to trim payroll by $20 million, over 1/3 of the '09 payroll was sunk into dead weight by the previous regime (Washburn, Batista, Silva, and Johjima) and he was able to turn them around and go 8 wins above .500 (a 24 win turnaround).

Yea, I was looking over their transactions and this might be the problem as well. I looked at the Twins and thought about them as a unit rather than the executive decisions.

I wouldn't be surprised if Amaro Jr. takes the award but Zduriencik is a very good choice too.

Bill Smith would be a vomitous* selection.

Colletti should be disqualified based on the money he's paying Andruw Jones and Juan Pierre.

...Not to mention bringing in Pedro in the face of scrutiny and critics. Only to have Pedro pitch marvelously down the stretch, and then again in Gm 2 in the NLCS.

Ruben Amaro all the way. Anything less is uncivilized.
