Not my folks. When I was a kid, I missed Carlton Fisk's extra inning HR in game 6 of the '75 WS. When I was a Brewer/Cecil Cooper fan, I never got to see their WS vs the Cards. It was off to bed.

I remember when the 2005, mom let me stay up and even let me miss a day to watch a game.

So what you're saying is that your opinion of this is based on a painful memory you have as a child.

Do you want to talk about this?

hah, hah. No. Missing the Brewers losing meant I wouldn't be crying myself to sleep that night. Sad to say, I was probably close to 16 before I could watch my favorite team lose a big game w/o shedding tears.

I'm just taking my cue from the NFL. When the west is @ home, they are always the later game. In the NBA too, the West coast is always later. I would think they would do the same in baseball. It makes more sense.

My assumption, and it's only an assumption, is that MLB likes to have at least one night game when two games are on. This is probably a network thing, actually.

Selig has said that he is tied to the networks.

It's all about primetime. They want the games at primetime for money. Day games on weekends are a no can do because of college & pro football. Another factor is west coast fans have earned a reputation of show up in the 3rd inning and leave in the 7th inning.
I dont remember there names but they were allot of fun....

MLB caters to the east coast, and just says F you to the west coast...It's not fair. A lot of people out west can't go to these playoff games that start at 1 or 4, cause they're still at work.

And it's Dodger fans who show up by the 3rd inning and leave by the 7th, and that's mostly because of the horrible traffic. It takes forever to get in and out of that stadium.

Given the choose what would you rather do. Miss the first 2 innings or the last 2?

Real simple reason why they played on Tuesday afternoon. Cause House comes on Tuesday night and Fox doesn't want to mess up the ratings for its best night of regular programming.

Same reason the World Series isn't starting until Wednesday when they could be playing on Tuesday. Also, by waiting until Wednesday to start the Series they don't have a game scheduled for Tuesday the next week either.

                            That's completely bogus.

The schedule is always based off of 7 games. If the ALCS went 7 games (assuming no rain outs) then it would have ended on Sunday. You want everyone to get up and start going again on Tuesday?

Two days off seems a reasonable number of days to prepare for the World Series.

Now, if you want to go back to the ALDS and see how the schedule was worked around so that the World Series starts on a Wednesday, then yes, I agree.

Also keep in mind that "Networks have the power" has been the basis of everyone's argument since the beginning of this thread.

The WS was starting Wed, even if the Yankees had finished off the Angels in game 5 last Thursday. SO its not about an appropriate time for a layoff.
