Re: Hall Of Fame: Yes Or No?
Not surprisingly the "blank hat for Halladay" decision has turned into a gong show with Jays fans. I respect Brandy and the kids' decision but it feels like she's disrespecting her husband's wishes. I mean I sympathize with them but you can tell something was rotten in Denmark with how all official communication since Roy passed came through the Phillies organization.
This has marred what should be a positive and joyous moment for BOTH fanbases and now it's turned into people blaming Shapiro for giving Roy a bit of a cold shoulder (unintentionally i'm sure) and others outright blaming Brandy and the HOF.
It's just a mess and this is stuff i'm gleaning through the Blue Jays subreddit. I can only imagine how vitriolic things are on Twitter and FB.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I don't have anything different to say so I'm just going to bump the Doc's post on the matter:

Re: Hall Of Fame: Yes Or No?
EDIT: I decided to edit out a sarcastic comment at the end. I respect you too much to get all heated like that. Like I said my comment was directed towards the immature fans screaming and placing blame on Brandy over this decision.Last edited by SPTO; 01-23-2019, 10:51 PM.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Hall Of Fame: Yes Or No?
It sucks he won't go in with the Jays even though he said on camera he wants to, but getting mad at anyone in his family is stupid.
No. He never even played for the Os either.
Hint 1, he began his career with the Os
Hint 2, he's a pitcherComment

Re: Hall Of Fame: Yes Or No?
I'm going with Armando Benitez...I know he had time with the O's, the Yanks, and I think he did a short stint in Toronto, IIRC."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

Played 3 games on Os roster with Lee in 94, played more with Mussina and Baines in Baltimore, Rivera and Mussina in NY, Edgar in Seattle and finished off his career on Jays roster with Halladay.Comment

Re: Hall Of Fame: Yes Or No?
Ya, that's right! 2019 hof class is linked solely because of Armando Benitez.

Re: Hall Of Fame: Yes Or No?
He was there for several games only. Didn't do so well. Jays bullpen and pitching as a whole was great that season despite resorting to a Benitez signing. Too bad offense sucked. 20HR was the most anyone had.Comment

This Halladay discussion wouldn't be happening if he didn't do what he did.
Frustrating.Comment
