It's the Coors Field handicap. Those guys had some absurd years there. Walker, Bichette, etc. By that point people weren't taking those numbers seriously.

Re: Hall Of Fame: Yes Or No?

MVPs from non-playoff teams were rare, and Larry Walker had already won in 1997 with a superior season (including a better OPS away from Coors!) to Helton's 2000 campaign.

He still hit .353 on the road though and had and OPS over 1000.

True. I'm sure his team's record also played a role in it (as was mentioned). And maybe the position he played hurt him too, idk. 2B and C will always get more love than 1B. I was just looking it up and Larry Walker had a year where he hit like .380 and was 10th in MVP. Colorado was nuts for a while there.

Beltre has always been a weird one for me. Looking at his numbers, he's a no-doubter for the HOF. But I never really think of him as being one of the greatest players of his era. He just kind of flys under the radar.

I think Torii Hunter should be in. I’m surprised that he doesn’t really get much votes.

He’s not even close to a HOF player and Im a Twins fan.

Idunno about "not even close", but if Andruw can't get in, there's an impossible argument to make for Torii

Excellent point. Baseball Reference has Andruw as the 11th best at CF all-time and Torii at 35, so that gap alone is huge. If Jones can't get it, then Hunter certainly can't.

Kinda like Mike Mussina. Very good very consistent but I never thought he was ever one of the greatest pitchers of his era.

Beltre will have a Rangers cap, Jim Leyland will go no logo on the cap.

This is a little highlight of Adrian Beltre. This is what made him such a fan favorite. Great ball player but a really good sense of humor.

Beltre shouldn't have a cap at all, even the HOF can't touch his head
