They'll both probably be surpassed by David Ortiz once he's inducted 10 years from now.I write things on the Internet.

Re: Hall Of Fame: Yes Or No?
I think they both deserve to be in the Hall... now Edgar probably is better. But why can't 2 have DH's in the fame? It's a position in baseball and it should be seen that way. Who cares if it's some old guy trying to give him a couple more years in league. Or some guy who couldn't field.Last edited by redsox4evur; 05-21-2015, 01:41 PM.Comment

...he's still getting in though. Assuming he wants it, he'll probably reach 500 HRs and he will have been at the center of 3 Red Sox championship teams. And he has the whole "ZOMG CLUTCH!!!" narrative behind him too.I write things on the Internet.

Ortiz was a great hitter; Martinez might be one of the 30 greatest hitters in the history of baseball.I write things on the Internet.
