    Re: Chewing

I never even touched it when I played but two years and one piss drunk night and now I do it all the time. I even will throw one in during class while the teacher is rambling. Get weird looks.

Now when I play sports of any kind I have one in. Nobody wants you to smoke (I hate smoking) but nobody seems to care if you have a dip or chew in.

Either that or calling time to take a bong hit.

I attended a small junior college in east Texas and in the syllabus for one of my classes it specifically had in there "no chewing tobacco in class." I didn't think people actually did that until one day a guy sitting next to me knocked his cup.

yeah just the minors, but they are trying to get the ban in the MLB but I think the MLBPA is fighting it. There's an article from today about it on Fanhouse.

Players Chew on Potential Tobacco Ban

This part of it is funny:
"They should worry about other things than dip," said one National League player who asked to remain anonymous because he said his wife doesn't know that he uses tobacco at the ballpark. "It's not against the law. Everyone else can do it. Why can't we?"

Obviously not on the level of what Josh Hamilton used to do, but I just think it's odd that he constantly has a dip in while he plays. It seems like someone who constantly promotes overcoming addiction and not abusing substances wouldn't be so hooked on dipping.

That's his business, I just found it weird.
