Die hard Cubbie fan here. One of my favorite players has bit the dust. So have my Cubs chances at the NL Central. Also I too voted many times for him being an All-Star.

Fantasy folks...
Try and trade Patterson now. Before he goes on the DL and everyone finds out he is done. Even if you get a less caliber player, its better than nothing.
Also, start making OF offers to teams who have Patterson.
