    J.J HARDY TRADED

It's being reported on sports radio here in Milwaukee that the Brewers have just dealt Hardy to Minnesota for Carlos Gomez.
I see no point in this trade from our perspective unless there is a pitcher involved I don't know about?
I'll post more if I find out anything else.

That Santana trade was garbage...Gomez was supposed to be the centerpiece.

I guess we are going to be saying goodbye to Mike Cameron now.
Out with Hardy and in with Escobar.......our second shortstop of the future, lol.

Good deal for the Twins. Hardy was going to be out in Milwaukee anyway with Esocbar being their SS of the future.

Hmmm...I wonder if the comp would be the same for Jhonny...

Great trade for the Twins, FWIW.

As a Twins fan, I'm happy. Gomez didn't really have any place in our outfield, so to get anything decent for him is a bonus.

I think this was a good trade for the Twinkies. Hardy probably needed a change of scenery and he'll be on a team that relies more on the basics so he's not going to be surrounded on a team that easily falls into bad habits with power baseball.

Gomez will be nothing more then a utility man by the midway point for the Brewers.

They had no other choice. What, Phil Hughes? No way the Yankees would've thrown in Cano.

Hughes and Melky would have still been better than anything the Twins got in return.

Except then Johan would be playing on the Yankees. It does no good to get a slightly better deal if it means loading up one of the teams keeping the Twins from a championship.

This was more of a deal of two teams wanting to get of players. The Brewers were going to go with Escobar at SS next season with or without Hardy on the roster. The Twins had basically already given up on Gomez by august last season when Denard Span started to see more time CF.

The Twins do make out best here in that they need a SS and it was unlikely they were going to keep Orlando Cabrera given the amount of money he will be looking for on the free agent market.

I like the trade. Carlos Gomez, while young, didn't even seem like he was trying to change his terrible approach at the plate. Seems that the Twins got Hardy at his lowest value as he had a pretty terrible year. Hopefully that was an aberration and he can return to his 07-08 form.

While Gomez has the best range in center in all of baseball, Span is just fine out there.

Twins got the better end of this deal IMO.
