3 days ago Willis said that even though he was invited to the All Star Game, he is very much honored to be invited and voted for it, but he decided not to, because of all the other people that have played many years and worked their *** off. They worked hard to go places, and Willis said that other people deserve to go to the ASG... Willis has been there for less than half a year, and he feels that other people that have been around longer deserve the chance to play in the ASG.

Whether he stuck aroind just for his 300th win (and he wouldn't be the first pitcher to do that) or not, he can still pitch (he's leading the AL in strikeouts!) so what's the big deal?

Well, Dontrelle from the Bronx was proposing that the 300th win WAS a reason for why Clemens should be put on the all-star team--... that's why the stat is superficial, and besides he's made an *** of himself enough on national television.Comment

Re: Bud Selig, you need to step in..
You HAVE to put Clemens on the All Star Team.
Look, if you can bring Tony Gwynn in as an honorary member of the All Star team last year, you should do it for Clemens this year. The man is one of the greatest pitchers in the history of the game, and at 40 is still an upper tier pitcher in today's game. And no, I don't say this because I'm a Yankee fan, Gwynn deseved his spot as much as Clemens, both are all time greats and Hall of Famers.
As for Willis, I hope he wins the Cy Young award so that he could take a piss on Dusty Baker for not taking him. The guy has an under 2 ERA, has not lost in a month and a half, and has singlehandedly brought fans back to Florida. He's my favorite player right now, and its a travesty that he's not on the All Star team.
Oh...and C.C Sabathia over Milton Bradley? Lance Carter over Aubrey Huff? No David Wells, when the guy has walked 5 people all season? I love Barry Zito and all, but compared to guys like Gil Meche and Wells, he shouldnt be there.Comment

*******, I'm not from Bronx. 300th win IS PART OF THE REASON. Its his final season, and he has been great throughout his career. DOn't give me bull**** about he just stuck to get his 300th win. He's still can pitch. It's not like he's mediocre." I look at him and it's getting to the point where it's just scaring me. He looks younger but he doesn't carry himself in a younger manner. He's impressive, and I'm glad we drafted him. "

Re: Bud Selig, you need to step in..
Are you guys serious? Dontrelle over Ortiz? What are you guys smoking? Ortiz is putting up PHENOMENAL numbers this year and is single handedly carrying the Braves starting pitching staff.
Take out Benitez for Willis instead of Ortiz. Ortiz deserves it, Benitez doesnt. Who cares about position filling?Comment

Since Clemens is a d--head, I guess making him 'honorary MEMBER'for the game makes complete sense..
No, seriously, Gwynn was immensely popular with his fellow players while Clemens is... well, not... but I'd be cool if he wants to go there and be bat-boy or something... actually we might want to keep him away from the bats... maybe he can refill the gatorade buckets...Comment
