I don't know what's so bad about pushing McGehee.

    .301/.360/.499, 16 HR, 66 RBI's.

    2.2 WAR.

He's not going to win... but he's not a joke either.

Having said that... these are the guys I would like to see win... not those that I think will win.

    NL: Andrew McCutchen
AL: Andrew Bailey (Obviously, Brett Anderson is the right choice, near 4 WAR! That's solid no matter how little/long you've been in the majors)

Andrew Bailey wins the AL while Coghlan wins the NL...I didn't see Bailey winning honestly.

Bailey and Coghlan win the awards.

On the Gordon Beckham thing, he did win the Players Associations and Sporting News Rookie of the Year Award. Just saying.

I didn't either. I'm surprised he won by as many votes as he did.

And he finished 5th in the BBWAA voting. Just saying.

Garret Jones only appeared on two ballots in the NL?! What the hell?

Bailey winning in the AL came out of left field to me.

                Oh well...

We already knew that, and it's why I said Beckham had no shot at winning.

I wanted Bailey to win it but I didn't think it would happen. Actually just as surprised as the rest here.

Garrett Jones had 1 great month followed by a decent rest of the season which is why i think the writers did not look to closely. At 28 years old i believe his age hurts him a bit being a "career minor leaguer" before this season.

                      July: 10 HR's, 17 RBI's, 17 SO, 5 BB in 100 AB's
                      Rest of season: 11 HR's, 27 RBI's, 59 SO, 5 BB's in 214 AB's

He tailed off quite a bit from a stellar first month.
