Dam, great game none the less.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. No, he is not a speed guy, but he does make smart and conscious decisions (routes) to the ball. Reads it well off the bat. And that translates him to having good range out there. Where some other outfielders who rely on their speed since they lack the smarts of the ball off the bat. Makes for some web-gem plays where otherwise would have been more manageable for a guy who takes better reads.
Nick Swisher with the bad GPS on the ball hit by Youkilis (triple) showed the side effects of players with bad reads (and no speed). Where if it were Ichiro who made a bad read (which he doesn't usually) his speed would have made up for it. Drew makes excellent reads which gives him good position on the balls.
It is going to be tough to get some fly balls in the gaps, in that Red Sox outfield. Especially Left Center.
I watched it on NESN though, so I didn't have to hear the Miller/Morgan ear bleeds about "Jete" one more time.Last edited by EnigmaNemesis; 04-05-2010, 08:00 AM.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

I liked ESPN's new overlays unfortunately I could only take 4 innings of Morgan and listened to the radio call. I fell asleep near the end of the game but at least I heard most of it. Great game nonetheless.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Agreed. They should have left it at the top of the screen. Something tells me ESPN changed it simply for the sake of changing it. It's almost like now you have to look away from the game to look at the HUD. It's in a very awkward position IMO.Comment

That being said my preference is the original "fox box" style when the things first came out years ago...I don't like anything straight across my picture.Comment
