Jim Hendry is just a horrible GM. He needs to take a charter back home with Omar Minaya.

I swear those two must have taken classes with Isiah Thomas.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

So this affront to common baseball sense is supposed to start tonight, right?

          Can't wait.

Lou is getting tired of contracts dictating who plays and where. I honestly wonder if he will last out the season or if he will quit/be fired before it's over.
Completely agree with the second statement. a salary never dictates who plays where. Lou is one of those old time managers. if he quits from the Cub's i think he retires for good or takes a seat some where in the Yankees organization again considering he played and managed for theme

if torre had not had huge success from 1996-2000, lou would have already been back as yankees skipper ,maybe he settles in as a bench coach somewhere like when don zimmer left as bosox mgr in late 70's
