Thornton REALLY needed to retire Gardner there. This will not end well.

And Jeter comes through... again. Game Over.

I'm glad to see him hitting so well. I know he's not going to sustain his insane BABIP (over .500 now), but he's been raking so far. If he can manage to keep his strikeouts down he could end up being a top tier AL CF.

Whew, Longoria came within a foot or two of walking off there. Soria gets it done though.

Are you suggesting that a line drive percentage north of 35% isn't sustainable?

Gary Thorne is a fantastic broadcaster, but he has the absolute worst pitch recognition I've ever seen...he seriously mis-calls about 2/3 of the pitches thrown. It's amazing how many guys throw 94 MPH breaking balls when he's calling games.

Oh I agree, he will hit a slump at some point and won't maintain the level he is at right now. Overall though the trade, even though it wasn't popular at the time, looks like it could very good one for the Tigers. Phil Coke has been outstanding in the bullpen as well.

I think that as Jackson's develops more power he has a higher potential ceiling than Grandy did.

Plus Madson just landed on the DL. Great relief situation in Philly, right?

Can't say the same for the Mariners offense.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Braves finally win! Interesting stat so far in Braves win/loses:

Heyward in wins: 14/34 (.412 avg), 5 HRs, 16 RBIs
Heyward in losses: 4/41 (.098 avg), 2 HRs, 3 RBIs
