    Barry, Gimme a Break.

    ESPN.com:
    C'mon, Barry ... He's only 22!

Carlos Zambrano retired Barry Bonds with the bases loaded on a soft liner back to the mound in the fifth inning on July 31, then caught San Francisco's attention with his celebration. Zambrano, 22, pounded himself in the chest, pumped his fists twice as he walked to the dugout and flipped the ball a dozen rows into the stands at Wrigley Field. "Well, I just try to be myself. I don't try to (embarrass) anybody. He's a big man in baseball," Zambrano said after Chicago beat the Giants 9-4. "It was a situation that was a big deal in the game. I was happy." Bonds wasn't. "I don't get upset about things like that, brother. He will learn respect eventually. I promise you," Bonds said. "He'll learn respect, I guarantee that."

    ------------
Can you say ignorant? It is okay for Barry to walk slowly to first base after homeruns and celebrate, but when a pitcher shows emotion after he got you out it is wrong. And respect? Hitters can be exuberant and show up pitchers, but pitchers are supposed to be spiritless and unanimated. I'll add this to Barry's rules.

    1. I think I am the greatest
    2. I wear armor, but I act like a girl when I get plunked. Barry, learn something from Fernando Vina and take your damn base instead of bitching.
    3. I must beat down any other player that perform as good as me in the media. (Pujols comments)
**4. I may not be shown up by a pitcher, but I will show up any pitcher I want.

Barry is easily one of the best three players in baseball. He still acts like the kid just out of college he was. If you have something to add to this list of Barry's Rules join in.

Please. You didn't find anything wrong with the reaction of the pitcher after retiring Barry. Some pitchers get excited but I've never seen anyone throw the ball 12 rows deep and get all riled up because of an out. I'd expect that kind of behavior in basketball or football but in baseball there is this thing called respect for your opponent. Carlos Zambrano shouldn't have shown up Bonds, any hitter would have reacted the same as he did but would not have said it to the media.

Bonds is not the ignorant one here, it's the pitcher who'll face him again eventually and will get crushed by the best player in baseball. Getting Bonds mad is an idiotic thing to do especially if you're a pitcher. I'm sure Dusty talked to him after the game. You probably wouldn't have said the same if Babe Ruth was the hitter instead of Bonds...

The only problem I had with Zambrano was when stared Bonds down after it. Players toss balls into the crowd all the time after the third out. That was the least of problems. Barry has no respect for other pitchers; why should he get it in return? Just because he has hit over 600 HR's he can show up other players and he is off limits for payback. I don't buy it.

12 rows is not that far. It's about the distance a soft pitch softball pitcher underhands the ball.

And by the way, get real. If you got Bonds out with the bases loaded you'd probably pee your pants with excitement.

I think the pitcher from the Cubs did show him up, but Bonds has no right to talk. He tries to showup every pitcher he hits a homerun on. Bonds has become the nba version of Shaq. Can't wait till he cries after not winning the world series again.

I generally would have a problem with it. But in this case since Bonds does the same type of stuff and while no on can dispute how great a player he is, he acts as though he thinks he's bigger than the game. So I have no problem with it in this case. Sort of a taste of your own medicine type thing.
