    Re: Mariners Offense = Oxi-Moron

Yeah, I thought the Mariners were a threat to contend this year. Although it is too early to count them out, they have dug themselves into a hole that Felix and Lee couldn't dig them out of, even if they threw perfect games in every start.

Edited thread title, because the Mariners offense is NOT like Oxi-Clean.

Probably not anytime soon, but if you listen closely you can hear Cecil Cooper laughing hysterically in the distance.

What's worse is that the Mariners rotation should look like this
              1. Felix Hernandez
              2. Cliff Lee
              3. Tim Lincecum
              4. Stephen Strasberg
              5. Erik Bedard

              Instead it looks like this:

              1. Felix Hernandez
              2. Cliff Lee
              3. Ian Snell
              4. Ryan Rolland-Smith
              5. Jason Vargas

Ok let me walk you guys through why Lincecum and Strasberg should both be Mariners. In 06 our idiot GM Bill Bavasi elects to take Brandon Morrow over the home town protege Tim Lincecum. Then in 2008 we wen't into the final weekend of the season, holding a 1 game lead over the Nats for worst record in baseball. The M's and Nats both lossed the 1st game that weekend. However, Yunieski Betancourt decides he is going to go 5 for 7 with like 5 RBI the last two games, -- which was the best he did in any two game stretch the entire year before that. -- and the M's won both games. Whereas the Nats lossed (threw) both of their games to win the Strasberg sweepstakes. God I hate Betancourt, hate him with every ounce of my soul

Nah, should've been a Padre, but the Nationals proved to be the worst team by being swept by the Padres in September. The difference between the two teams at the end of the season? 3 games.

I'm not a Mariners fan but I feel your pain, somewhat. I drew the Mariners in a 13 run pool.

That's a weeks worth of runs for this team. Actually come to think about it I would consider that a hot streak if we were ever to score 13 runs in one week. That would be living large. I can't imagen would it would be like to score 13 runs in one game.

It is God awful to watch at times. Especially when we have the best 1-2 punch in the rotation in all of baseball, as well as the best defensive CF (Gutierrez) , and RF (Ichiro) in baseball, and one of the best defensive SS (Wilson), and 2B (Figgins). Yet the only ones that are actually hitting are Gutti, and Ichiro. As a fan I can not stand a 1 or 2 run deficit being insurmountable. If we had the Rangers offense we would be the best team in baseball. Just sickening.

When the opposing pitcher sees our lineup card they must just laugh at the notion of facing it. At what point does Cliff Lee and Felix ask the manager if they can hit? They should definitely sue someone for emotional distress though. Jack Z should trade for Jack Cust.

You can say that again dude. I hope we get it turned around because this is not the M's of the 90s-early 00s.

Well our offense is somewhat watchable now that we have The Muscle back. Speaking of which what's his contract like? Do we still have him for next season? If I'm not mistaken he signed a 2 year deal with the Indians, right?

I'm not sure about his contract dude. I'm just glad we won today.

There's a $5MM mutual option for next season, so both sides would have to exercise it. I'm pretty sure mutual options rarely ever get exercised by both parties.

I hate you guys. I have David Aardsma as my fantasy closer.
You guys cant freakin make up your mind about winning.
You guys either lose because of David Aardsma when he comes in 1 time a week, or you guys win by 7 when Cliff or Felix pitches, then they pitch a CG.
