Lyman Bostock: Beast of a player who was tragically murdered.
    Ben McDonald: Injuries derailed career.
    Kris Benson: Injuries derailed career.
Eric Milton: Was solid #2 pitcher before injuries derailed career.
Eric Chavez: Was once considered one of the best at the hot corner during his healthy playing days. Could've done a lot more w/o continual back problems
Mike Lieberthal: Had a handful of full/healthy seasons during his 14 yr career, but produced when healthy.

I watched that show religiously as a child and for those of us who didn't have cable it was the only way to see action outside of the area. Doesn't seem right for the show to still exist without Mel Allen.

Injuries and being an all around idiot. He missed a few starts while at Clemson cause he pulled a muscle in his back while having sex with a stripper. He never took care of himself and never gave a damn.

I was going to say his whore of a wife played as much of a part of his failure as anything else. I'll never forget her comment in Maxim about what his present would be if he won a Cy Young.

Hmmm...I missed that. What would his "present" have been?

Darryl Strawberry - probably the most powerful hitter I have ever seen with a swing as sweet honey-dipped sugarcane. When he hit the roof of old Olympic Stadium...wow.

One of the most talented and sad figures I've witnessed in baseball. He coulda been the greatest.

That had to be her best gem, that or saying if she ever caught him cheating she'd sleep with everyone in the Mets organization including the bat boys.

Here is a player who had some good years but for a career just never was able to always put it together, former Expos 1B Andres Gallaraga (sp). I still remember that shot he hit in Dolphins Stadium that had to have shattered Mickey Mantle's longest HR record even if he was never given credit for it. Another is Ruben Rivera, those inside NYY were calling him the second coming of Mickey Mantle, except he couldn't hit a ball that curved and liked underage girls (he also once propositioned my wife, but she had her eyes on another rookie by the name of Jeter or something).

You must be a stud to have wrestled away a woman from Jeter...

Jose Reyes has had some steals and some runs, but I don't know if he's come anywhere close to his potential.

                              Hank Blalock?

It was years before we met actually and she had the pictures to back it up. My college girlfriend's previous boyfriend before me was actually John Cena, again well before he was famous.
