In any case, very impressive debut by Strasburg. It's only the Pirates and I'd like to see him against a much better offense, but the fact remains that his stuff was nasty regardless of opponent.Comment

He'll pitch against Atlanta around June 28 or 29. Might be his first "real" lineup. I put "real" in quotes because our offense is not thaaaat good yet.Comment

Re: June 7th - June 13th MLB Discussion (week 10)
Strasburg's outing requires some perspective in that it was against a very poor hitting ballclub and that pitchers with exceptional stuff (and he certainly possesses that) tend to always have a major advantage when facing hitters for the first time. Still, very impressive. His hook and change are better than I thought, though his change does appear to be a bit inconsistent in terms of location (the movement is excellent though). His two-seam is also a work in progress and he's almost doing the hitters a favor when he throws it in place of his high 90's four-seamer. His four-seamer doesn't have that finish to it that say, Roger Clemens had, but it was consistently 97-99 which doesn't require explosive action. Combine that with an easy and clean delivery and I can see why he'll end up making life miserable for many hitters.Comment

Great first outing for Strasburg...the thing I am most impressed with is the ZERO walks. A guy throwing that hard should walk some guys and he didn't even have that many 3 ball counts. There are so many great young players coming up right now...baseball has a bright future!"People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do.
