The only way Albert Belle get's in to the Hall of Fame is if he buys a ticket,
the HR (381) and the RBI (1239) are not as impresive today as they were some years ago, thanks to a higher offensive standard,
Ken Griffey Jr. and Frank Thomas have more HRS and RBI then
Belle and its already being debated whether or not those two belong in the hall,
and about Kirby, while his offensive numbers were'nt all that great he did win the 6 gold gloves ('86-'91) but also 2 world championships, and was a general good guy to the game and to the fans, Belle was not, (i seem to recall an incident on halloween a few years back where he chased some kids in his SUV),
while both players careers were cut short due to injury and illness, Puckett gracefully walked away from the game,
while Belle has been bleeding the Orioles for the last 3 years.

I agree that winning championships don't make a great player, but great players win championships, and (I could be wrong) but I think he won at least 1 Series MVP. And was just as dominant in the other.

      That says a ton

I live down in South Florida where the O's train and was present at "Joey's" last practice before he announced his retirement.

True story... his second to last AB he fouled off a line drive up into the stands that took out some older woman who had the bad luck of being in the flight path. They had to call an ambulance in for her.

Being from the Cleveland area and following the indians closely I always thought that was a fitting end for Albert.

Not every player who plays the game is going to make it to the hall, thats just the way it is, Belle was a punk on and off the field, the hall of fame voters commitee probably recognize that,
and if your going to base simply off of power numbers, then why not Kevin Mitchell, 234 HRS, or Rob Deer, 230 HRS, how about Mickey Tettleton, 245 HRS, each of these players have more home runs then Puckett do they deserve to be in the hall?
