Anyone here who's pitched before... that has thrown a
Sinker, can you please tell me how it's held and how you release it. It's the only pitch that baffles me still.Tags: None -
Re: Anyone here who\'s pitched before... that has thrown a
Really a sinker is just a different vesion of a two-seam fastball. Some pitchers just hold it right to create enough drop to call it a sinker, but i believe it is the same as a two seam. Most twoseams drop, just not as much as a "sinker"
However I don't throw a sinker, and very well could be wrong on this subject -

Re: Anyone here who\'s pitched before... that has thrown a
place you index finger and middle finger along the seams and right next to each other...***ning along the left seam of the ball.
Apply heavy pressure with the index finger with "light" pressure from the middle finger.
Now when releasing the pitch, turn the ball over slightly...this is a reverse turn than one from a curveball.
almost like a screwball turn but not as dramatic.teaching.............still fun

sinkers and cuttersyou don't need them, and they put a good amount of strain on the elbow. Learn how to locate a 4 seam fastball on both sides of the plate in your sleep before you go to a sinker or cutter..
