Ok, it's not like the Yankees at 100-20 right now. Their players are only mediocre, so I think the only person who should complain about the payroll is Steinbrenner for wasting his money.

The rumor going around now is that the Cardinals are looking at OF Reggie Sanders of the Pirates. Just a rumor but the Cardinals are tired of J.D Drew and they want Sanders. The only problem I think could be that Sanders might not clear waivers.

JD drew is a dog any phils fans will tell ya that. However if i was the cardinals i would be looking for pitching not hitting. I understand sanders could be a long term fix and they could trade drew in the offseason possibly but right now they have to worry about geting another arm in that rotation. I belive this team can win this division the astros are overated and the cardinals kill the cubs in St louis.

But there really are no pitchers available. It's unfortunate that Chuck Finley has to be a jerk and want millions of dollars to be a 5th starter.

I would much rather have them close up shop for the season than possibly send away some talent in a waiver deal that would produce a player that wouldn't still be here next year. If the Cards make the playoffs this year, good for them. I don't see any of the NL central teams going to the WS. Other than Pujols' spectacular year and the excitement surrounding Bo Hart and Dan Haren, this looks like it will be a forgettable year for me, but hopefully not for ownership. This is what happens when 3/5 of your rotation are one year wonders and basketcase pitchers. If the ownership truly cares about this team, the 2004 Cardinals will be a very different team.

I would love to see Drew traded for Sanders. I don't care who they get for him. Just get rid of the guy. They pay him so much money. It wouldn't be so bad if he could atleast be playing.
