This game in Texas is crazy. No pitcher can keep the ball in the yard tonight.

I rarely post in the baseball forum, but I have been watching the Phillies. So I'm no bandwagon fan but I understand your point.

The Braves fans have only recently come back this season. 1st place will do that, finishing 3rd in 2009 and 6 games out of the wildcard has a tendency to wain interests...

EDIT: ...And just for quid pro quo searched this forum going back the last 100 days, and the only weekly baseball thread I DID NOT post in was the week5 thread from the week of May3rd...Phillies were in 1st place then at 14-9. So don't know who you're trying to hold accountable...

You need to go look at his career splits vs the Phillies, and you can have your back.

Nice to see the Jays use some timely hitting and fine defense to beat the Halos last night. I don't know how well Alex Gonzalez is doing in Atlanta but i'm very pleased with Escobar and we'll have him for a lot longer then we'd have Gonzalez.

I'm not sure where you get that...I know I've been as active in these forums 2006-2009 as I have been this year and I know Matrix, Speedy, etc have as well. I was more referring to the Phils team thread more than anything...it was idle for months and then all the sudden I see phils fans posting in the weekly thread. I know you've been here all along though...I've seen you on here for as long as I can remember.

Yeah that's just not true. I've posted each and every year as have other Braves fans. The Atlanta Braves team thread is also one of, if not the most, active of the team threads each year.

Again, his career stats have nothing to do with the game the other night. He walked the bases loaded and a routine DP ball went through the 3rd baseman's legs. It's not like the Phillies just knocked him around. So you can keep that .

I hate whenever a team makes a comeback and the question gets asked, well they did win the game or did the other team lose it? Most people always say the other team and diminish what the team that won did. In the 8th inning, Mike Sweeney made an error that allowed the big inning. In the bottom of the 8th, Casey Blake made an outstanding play to rob the Phillies of a run. In the 9th, the Phillies were patient against Broxton and now because they were patient it's they lucked out. Mike Sweeney had an outstanding at bat against Broxton that drew a walk.

Earlier in the season the Phillies blew somewhere between a 5 to 7 run lead in the ninth against the Twins. So to say the Phillies lucked out would not be correct and instead these things just balance each other out during the course of a 162 game season. In general, I hate when these type of games happen and most people say the team that won "lucked" out especially when said team has a history of never giving up.

In the end they usually even out. We lost a game last weekend we shouldn't have, but I had to remember we beat Cincy 10-9 after being down 9-1 earlier this year. We shouldn't have won that game...

This has gotten ridiculous. You could've just let what I said pass, and if you DID want to get smart, do so by doing your due diligence and making sure you were right about me not being present in these weekly threads. I skimmed through, and saw that Marino was the only LAD fan to have posted this week and just thought it funny that w/ LAD falling out of it there's no one around. Instead the Braves fans felt they had something to say...

All I was saying is that he doesn't do good agaisnt the Phillies. It can be due to his own volition, or outside causes but in the end HE fails. Now he's lost his closer role...have a nice day.
