It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

This is not the way I thought it would all end for him. I thought this would be his last year anyways but to end his career like this is sad. Definitely will be in the Hall.

"He'll probably make his decision from there. I can assure you it's not something that's going to be a knee-jerk decision."

Did he really have to use knee-jerk? Insert foot in mouth here Abbott. Sad day for Braves fans. Never want to see a Hall of Famer go out like this...

I would rather a HOF going out with a devestating injury than be forced to retire because of poor performance.

It's too bad the injury is serious enough to keep him out of just one more time. It'd be cool to have him say that tonight will be his final game.

Re: Chipper Jones Done For Year, Likely Career

If it's indeed the end of his career then all I can say is that he was one of the most solid 3B of his generation. Although you could tell his play had really dropped off quite a bit. I saw a little bit of one game where someone hit the ball towards 3rd and it took a slightly funny hop but one that Chipper should still snare and throw to first instead, he kinda sidestepped it and the ball got by him. It's clear that at the very least his defensive prowess has left him.

If he does retire then it's a shame that it couldn't be done more on his terms and with a proper send off by Braves fans in Atlanta.

Yeh, it definately was an amazing all-out play.

Wow well forget what I said then. He really went full out on that play. It didn't even look all that serious too

Well at least you could say he went out making a helluva play.

I hope this doesn't mark the end of his career.

I'm going to do a season fantasy draft in The Show and pick Chipper at 3rd like always.

Growing up in Braves country, (I never like the Braves in the least.) I always had a healthy respect for Chipper. You could tell by looking at the guy that he was just a true Baseball Player. I always liked that about him. Plus he played 3rd Base, the position I played in High School.

I hope he gets an analyst job, he would bring a lot of good insight to the plate.

I'll be willing to bet he'll be the Braves' next hitting coach.
