    In the NL, close to a 4 ERA is awful, especially for an all-star like Glavine.
    Then, in the playoffs, he pitched twice, went a total of 7 and 2/3, and gave up 13 runs on 17 hits. Mazzone couldn't snap him out of it, which was my point. If it were coaching, it could have been fixed.

      Awful? You've got to be kidding. Last year a 3.90 ERA in the National League would have been 26th best in the league. Again, it's not great, but it's not awful. As of right now a 3.90 ERA ranks 22nd in the National League.

      Now, his playoff numbers were certainly awful, there is no denying that.

            yes, and the 22nd best pitcher in the national league, in terms of quality, not stats isn't all that great. That would make him average in the AL, where the hitting is.
            I'll agree that "awful," was too strong, but it's certainly less than stellar.
