    Loaiza versus the Tigers again...

Looks like it's 1-0 through six. If the score remains the same it will be his 3rd loss to the Tigers this season by that score. That must be a record.

And what do you know... looks like Halladay is going up against the Yanks this week... again!

I'm sorry. The fact the Tigers have been Loaiza's most frequent opponent (6 times) and the Yanks have been Halladay's second most frequent (5 times, second to Boston at 6!!) has to count for something come CY YOUNG voting time. It's closer than the ERA differential is dictating.

Give it up already...That should have no effect into the Cy Young voting....Not like Esteban purposely misses starts against tough teams...

He one hit the Yankees and only gave up 1 run against the Red Sox..
    Michigan Wolverines
    Chicago White Sox

So according to you Loaiza should be penalized in the Cy Young voting for losing 2 games 1-0 to Detroit?

Seems to me that the argument could be made that Loaiza should be a 20 game winner already....

I remember the last Sox series series vs. Toronto when the Sox pummeled Halladay and knocked him out early but the Jays scored enough runs that Halladay didn't take the loss; keeping his streak intact even though the Jays lost the game. I think I will use your twisted logic and claim that Halladay's win streak is therefore invalid.

In order to have a win streak of any length exceeding 10 days there's going to be a day or two in there where you get bailed out by your offense.

But I will admit, having looked at Loiaza's pitching log for the season, that it's massively impressive he's never won a game where he gave up more than 3 runs. My point about the 1-0 Detroit games was that he could have more wins than he's already sporting, but that the stats don't tell the whole picture about these two pitchers.

I guess my point is, a lot of folks have been saying Halladay doesn't deserve it because his ERA is a whole run higher than Loaiza's. But you CANNOT deny the caliber of the opposition Halladay is consistently tossed out there against as compared to Loaiza. Come on, 6 starts against maybe the worst team in history (and a 1.21 ERA in those starts).

Right now I give it to Loaiza, but it isn't by much. And right now Halladay is 3 hitting the yanks through six. Though this will probably jinx him.

And another great atart for Halladay against an awesome team. 1 ER and only 4 hits in a complete game.

Tell me that that isn't harder to do against the Yanks then the Tigers.
