    2011 HOF Class announcement

Not sure how many folks are getting to watch this, but on MLBN they are getting ready to announce the HOF class of 2011. I think we talked about this earlier last year, but I expect Blyleven and Alomar. Would love to see Raines, but that's probably not happening.

Yup, Robbie Alomar and Bert Blyleven are elected...that's it. Glad to see Bert finally get in.

        Congrats to both.

I never saw much of Bert but he had the misfortune of pitching on a lot of bad teams in his career.

Robbie Alomar is the single best 2B I ever saw so i'm glad he's in.

Agreed. I think he was clean and playing in an era with guys who weren't has really diminished his perceived value. As stupid as it is, if he had 7 more home runs he'd probably be a slam dunk.

I was really hoping Barry Larkin would make it in.

He's practically a lock for next year. He was pretty close this year and he's considered a no doubter to most people.

I was sad to see John Franco eliminated this year.

Alomar SHOULD have been in LAST YEAR! The HOF is a joke. Alomar is the best 2nd baseman in the last 20 years.

That was just another case of asshat voter agenda, at least it didn't take a decade.

Was hoping Bagwell would get some more votes. It's also truly a shame that Kevin Brown is off the ballot now. He's the definition of borderline, but there's no reason he should be knocked off after 1 year while the inferior Jack Morris is hanging around with 50% of the vote.

But, but, but Jack Morris was clutch and pitched to the scoreboard and Blyleven was a whiny guy who couldn't win.
