Yes dude it gets soooo annoying when people doubt the giants after they won the World Series last year. We proved that great pitching can beat any team and were gonna do it again next year too

Right, cause in 6 games proves that. Please! It's amazing how winning a World Series can make people so delusional

Fans in general are loathe to acknowledge that small samples sizes tend to be pretty meaningless.

I think it is a good debate. What DrJones posted in my other thread was fantastic. He actually put relevant stats to make a case

Jays after this offseason could be a consideration for one of the best bullpens in the MLB.

If you look at who will be in the bullpen for the Jays next season and add up their 2010 stats, the Jays bullpen era would be 3.67. 3.67 ERA in MLB last year would make them 10th best bullpen in MLB(though most seasons, an ERA like that would be good enough for top 5)

We played the Giants harder than any other team did in the postseason. Every game was decided by one run, and if we hadn't been down to our very last options for starters off the bench, we might have won that series. Conrad kind of killed it all by himself. I love the guy, but he may have single-handedly lost us that series.

With that having been said, I'm surprised to see the Braves down so far. Venters acts like he's been in the majors his entire life. And Kimbrel is just disgusting. In case you missed out on this kid, here's a little something to bring you up-to-date:

Kimbrel struck out 40 of the 88 big-league batters he faced, allowing a .125 batting average and a 0.44 ERA. He made four playoff appearances, striking out seven in 4 1/3 innings.

If that doesn't say dominant, I dunno what does. I can't wait to see what this kid's gonna do this season. Also, is it weird that I call him a kid? He and I are the same age, haha.

Anyway, still a solid list of 'pens.

I nominate this for understatement OS post of the year.

It's impossible to know which Bullpen will be best at this point. Relievers are the most inconsistent performers in baseball.
                      NFL: Indianapolis Colts (12-6)
                      NBA: Indiana Pacers (42-13)
                      MLB: Cincinnati Reds (0-0)
                      NHL: Detroit Red Wings (26-20-12)
NCAA: Purdue Boilermakers (FB: 1-11, BB: 15-12), Michigan Wolverines (FB: 7-6, BB: 19-7, H: 15-10-3)

                        I personally blame Cody Ross.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.
