And for you Giants fans who think Giants have better starting pitching, try and prove it to me WITHOUT mentioning last years playoffs.
This last statement of yours is hilarious.

It reminds me of those ads that Ford or GM make claiming that their car is better than Toyota. Well if you think they are then don't compare.

You obviously have not been on OS in the baseball forum during and after the playoffs.

No doubt the Phils have decent starting pitchers but i think Oswalt for one is getting a bit worn down, Hamels is inconsistent and Lee, well he was brought back down to earth in the world series, we'll see how he recovers. I do love Halladay though.

Agreed about Oswalt, though he didn't show it last year. Hamels is no longer Hamels of '09, where he was inconsistent. He proved last year that he got it together. Lee got "brought down to earth" in 2 games. I wouldn't go by such a small sample size. Although I don't think he is nearly as good as Roy Halladay (funny, I love Cliff Lee more though)

Lee is fun to watch pitch when he is on because it appears as though he's hittable. He keeps everyone so off balanced.

Lee pounds the strike zone which helps and hurts him. Hitters hate when a guy like Lee can just pound the low outside corner over and over again, but with Major League hitters, if you put it in the strike zone, there is a good chance they get contact (If they are not off balance) which could result in bloop hits. Although Lee (and Halladay for that matter) give up a ton of hits, but also get out of it almost every time

Yeah they give up a lot of hits with no one on base, scoring position is a bit different.
That is what i love about the Giants Lincecum and Cain. They are both bulldogs as well.

Ya, those types of pitchers are so fun to watch. It is like they are orchestrating a symphony out there when they are on

Well, two guys doesn't make a bullpen. And when their starting pitching is as shaky as it is, they're going to need to rely on more than two guys.

Easy, I'll take Bell, Gregerson, Adams, Frieri, Thatcher, and Qualls. Not to mention that I'm not worried with Scribner and Italiano waiting in the wings in AAA should any of them get traded or injured.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Padres repeat with another year of the endless sub-2.00 ERA no-name relievers trend. Maybe Poreda can jump on the wagon if he figures out that getting people out is much better than walking them.
