Re: Most Impactful Transaction?
Cliff Lee to the Phillies. Philly's lineup isn't looking to good with Utley's injury. Halladay, Oswalt, and Hamels can't carry that team to the World Series. Add Lee to that trio and you have one of the best teams in the MLB."My body could stand the crutches but my mind couldn't stand the sideline"- Michael JordanComment

Re: Most Impactful Transaction?
I think alot of these guys mentioned wil have big impacts on there new clubs. For me personally being a Reds fan I feel Renteria will have a huge impact for them. They are already a great young team and he adds veteran leadership and a guy that knows what it takes to win the World Series. He adds a veteran leadership along with Rolen that will be a tremendous asset come playoff time.Comment

Re: Most Impactful Transaction?
Gonzalez/Crawford are pretty obvious choices, so I'm going to go with Dunn to Chicago. With Dunn as good protection for Paul Konerko in that lineup, and the move to a better home park in US Cellular Field, he'll go back over 40 homers and propel the Sox to a division championship.Comment

Re: Most Impactful Transaction?
As you said, that 'veteran leadership' (which is overrated anyway - look at the '08 Rays) is already there with Rolen. Renteria is also no longer any better offensively than Cabrera, and never was (and still isn't) better than Cabrera defenively. As far as 'veteran leadership' goes, Cabrera had plenty of that as well, being on the '04 Bosox and all. Sure, Renteria had 2 WS wins to Cabrera's 1, but comparing that with superior defense up the middle, is it really worth it?Comment
